(Similar to the Mc-75's) They could always be changed back to tube rectification. First come first served. First come first served. First come first served. I should re-phrase 'tinker' it usually carries a negative connotation with it. I should say that a retired electrical engineer of 45 years modified them in ways that not only retain a clarity and brilliance that only McIntosh can provide. He grew tired of tubed rectification. He changed them over to solidstate rectification. He wanted a more tighter more defined sound. And these reproduce sound amazingly. The gentleman I bought these off of tinkered around with them. Leave number if interested. Sorry if this frightened anyone but really these are amazing pieces of work. I wish I had a better picture but my camera was stolen from my car last week. Spam post above. Always told myself I'd keep them but other things force my hand. He also recapped them.
